In response to a user's mother's suggestion, Zomato's grocery delivery platform, Blinkit, has introduced a new feature offering complimentary coriander (dhaniya) with vegetable purchases. This initiative came after user Ankit Sawant's mother expressed surprise at having to pay for coriander separately while ordering vegetables through Blinkit. Blinkit's CEO, Albinder Dhindsa, promptly acknowledged the suggestion and assured implementation.
Following the announcement, Dhindsa confirmed the addition of the 'free dhaniya' feature in a post on X, crediting Ankit's mother for the idea. The conversation quickly gained traction, amassing over 650K views and 9,000 likes. Many users lauded the move but also suggested including green chillies (hari mirch) as well.
The CEO acknowledged the feedback and assured users of further enhancements in the coming weeks. Some users specifically requested the addition of green chillies to accompany the complimentary coriander. The conversation reflected a positive response from the community towards Blinkit's responsiveness to user feedback and its efforts to emulate traditional marketplace practices.
With this new feature, Blinkit aims to enhance user experience and cater to customer preferences more effectively. The implementation of complimentary coriander with vegetable orders underscores the platform's commitment to listening to user suggestions and adapting its services accordingly.
